Emmanuel Dennis fires AFCON warning scores in Watford defeat

Super Eagles striker, Emmanuel Dennis on Tuesday fired a strong Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON warning as he scored against West Ham United.

The goal, his 5th in six games which he scored in the early stage of the encounter was all the Hornets could score as they suffered a 4-1 defeat at home. 

Dennis scored in the 4th minute through a Joshua King’s assist to put the Hornets on the lead but their celebration was cut short when Thomas Soucek equalised in the 27th minute 

West Ham made it 2-1 on the 29th minute through Said Benrahma goal.

The spoils stood at 2-1 in the interval but West Ham consolidated their hold when in 58th minute, Mark Noble scored a penalty before Nikola Vlasic sealed victory for David Moyes side in the 92nd minute. 

Emmanuel Dennis is one the 28-mam squad released on Christmas day by Super Eagles interim coach, Augustine Eguavoen.

It is expected that he would bring his goal scoring prowess to bear as the Super Eagles seek for their 4th continental title.
