It was an outpour of encomiums galore when a seasoned public officer, consummate technocrat and professional administrator, Chief Musa Sarki organised a Thanksgiving Service on his Successful Retirement from the Federal Civil Service at Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) of Abuja St. Jude’s Anglican Church, WUSE Zone 3, Abuja.
The Thanksgiving Service was well attended by colleagues, friends, family, relatives and associates of Chief Sarki including Staff of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) and other well wishers that cut across all segments of society.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of AMAC, Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, thanked Almighty God for seeing Sarki through the years.
He describing the celebrant as a dedicated, committed and successful public officer:
Maikalangu further described the celebrant as a hardworking public officer: ‘The most important thing is my relationship with the celebrant, he is my very good friend and a professional administrator to the core. I wish him well in his future endeavors.’
Similarly, the Chief of Staff to the Executive Chairman AMAC, Hon. Emeka Orji, also described the celebrant as a man of truth and honesty.
Orji opined that Sarki was a man of excellent service in the public service.
He added with patience, respect for established authority, rank discipline, are qualities saw him through to the end.
While reflecting on his 35 year sojourn in the federal civil service, a visibly elated administrator, Chief Sarki,thanked all the guests, visitors and family friends that graced the occasion, while appreciating the Almighty God for His guidance, protection and blessings all through this while.
The celebrant also offered a few words of advice for the younger ones on the secrets to success in whatever they do in life.
“There should be preparedness, which is multi-dimensional; preparedness by way of training, preparedness by way of mindset and preparedness by way of commitment,hard work and resilience.
“So, the youths must have to identify what they want and how to get it right.
“The road to success is a long, tortuous road, so you must have a lot of patience and anyone that wants to pass through that road must understand that he/she must be patient and prepare himself physically,materially ,spiritually and otherwise in order to get there.
‘l must tell you that in the 35 years, l worked in the civil service, no particular moment was regretful for me.
“I never had any regrets, that is not to say there were no challenges, there were challenges but l was prepared for them. I prepared my mind for the long road”, he said.
Some dignitaries who attended the occasion includes: Former governor of Taraba State, Chief Darius Ishaku, Former Deputy Mayor, present Commissioner Revenue Mobilisation and Physical Commission, Amb. Ayuba Jacob Ngbako, Former Envoy To Gambia, Amb. Esther Audu, Speaker AMAC, amongst others
