A Benin-based entrepreneur, Mr Sule Sadoh, has trained 41 youths in Edo State on how to fly drone for economic benefits.
At the two-day training workshop in Benin City, Sadoh, the Managing Director of Diamond Concept photography, showcased modern trends and opportunities that exist the world of entertainment.
Undergraduates from some tertiary institutions in Nigeria and photographers were among the beneficiaries of the programme tagged: “Fly Safe Drone Workshop”.
Sadoh, assured that the workshop will help to build capacity in youths and make self-reliant in life.
“Education is good, but, skills help to discover talent that are need to transform Nigeria.
“Education as one of the greatest weapons to conquerer, but, drone flying has come to put idle hands to work and curb youth restiveness and other vices”, he said.
Sadoh, appealed to government at all levels and other philanthropist individuals and groups to support in the training of more Nigerians with a view to ease the huge burden caused by unemployment in the nation.
“A lot of students and other Nigerians who would have love to be trained, but, we could not train everybody because of limited resources.
“So, we intend to open up the space for registration and training pending when funds will be available.
“You (youths) can sponsor your education by flying drones to cover social events, birthday, weddings and transmit events live. It is possible”, he said.
Speaking during an interview, a beneficial of the training programme, Mr Ebuka Chinyeyen Christian, appreciated the organizer of the training for his foresight and urged the government to assist them with start-ups which would enable them succeed.
