The Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Environment, Mahmood Kambari has urged the Directorate Cadre staff of the Federal Ministry of Environment to ensure full implementation of the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) in the Ministry.
This was contained in a press statement signed and issued by Director, Press and Public Relations Unit, Ibrahim Haruna .
Kambari stated this while declaring open a two day training workshop for the the Management Staff of the Ministry on the take-off of ECM in the Environment Sector.
The Permanent Secretary advised the Directorate Cadre to champion the smooth commencement of the ECM in line with policies of the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation (HOCSF), to enhance service delivery and to migrate from analogue to digital service.
He further acknowledged the efforts of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation in ensuring that all Ministries, Department and Agencies (MDAs) to migrate from analogue to digital service delivery.
Mr Agun Olusola an ICT offiial from the OHCSF noted that ECM is one of the solutions for digitalization of electronic data management for collaborative purpose in improving service delivery in Federal Government establishments.
Olusola revealed that ECM aims at moving from analogue to digital, thereby enhancing Automotive, seamless Connectivity, Artificial Intelligence and Cyber security.
He further reiterated that ECM will guarantee better and faster service delivery, improved efficiency and transparency, citizens engagement, swift decision making and adequate resource allocations.
He also rolled out the challenges of ECM which includes; IT knowledge, Security matters, Resistant to change and Legal matter, Regulatory Compliance and Budget Constraints among others.
According to Olusola, the objectives of ECM are to ensure that documents are safe and secure, To recover documents, To ensure that information reaches the right people in the right place and at the right time.
The ECM Consultant in the Ministry led by Princess Ebirim took the participants through the practical demonstration of the functionality of ECM interface in the Federal Ministry of Environment.
