An Estate Surveyor & Valuer ESV David Oziri said Estate Surveyors & Valuers have a strong role to play in property management in order to avoid losses .
ESV Oziri made this known yesterday emphasizing that Property Management is the ability to oversee the daily or periodic activities going on in Residential or Commercial Properties in terms of maintenance and other necessary activities that may come up from time to time.
He mentioned some duties of a property manager such as Tenant selection both for Residential and Commercial properties. Writing of correspondences including Offer letters, Rent reminder notices. Maintenance of the Property and Documentation.
He said that there are consequences if an Estate Surveyor is not engaged in property management.
“In a situation an Estate Surveyor & Valuer is not engaged, it will pave way to selection of wrong tenants in a property which can be very problematic. It may pave way to litigation in a situation the tenant refuses to pay as and at when due.
“The property will be in a bad state since an Estate Surveyor is not engaged to carry out periodic maintenance”, he stated
He added that “There will be clashes in the parking lot, especially in a multitenanted property and Correspondences will be hindered or not properly done since an Estate Surveyor & Valuer is not involved”.
He encouraged the public and private individuals to engage an Estate Surveyor & Valuer to manage your property for you to get good results.
