Etsu Nupe and Chairman Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar has conferred the traditional titile of Soniyanko Nupe on the wife of the president, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.
The title of Soniyanko Nupe (The Great Queen of Nupe Kingdom) was conferred on her at the weekend when she paid a courtesy call on the Royal father at his Wadata palace in the ancient city of Bida.
Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar said the traditional titile was conferred in recognition of the humanitarian support and assistance Tinubu’s Wife had rendered to victims of insecurity and natural disasters especially Mokwa flooding in the state.
The traditional ruler described, the husband, President Bola Tinubu as a friend and assured of his continuous support and prayers for the success of policies and programmes geared towards redirecting Nigeria to a greater prosperity.
In her acceptance speech, the wife of the President, Oluremi Bola Tinubu appreciated the Etsu Nupe for the honour bestowed on her and pledged to replicate the gesture through continuous support to the palace and the entire state at large.
Mrs Tinubu stated that she was challenged to do more for Nupe kingdom and Niger State as a whole following the
conferring of the traditional titile of Soniyanko Nupe on her.
