Former Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, has defected to the ruling All Progressive Congress, (APC)
The ex-lawmaker was issued the APC membership card by the State Chairman of the Party in Abia, Kingsley Ononogbu, on Tuesday.
Recall that Enyinnaya, the son of Theodore Orji, a former governor of Abia State had on Monday tendered his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP).
The ex-speaker, who briefed some of his close supporters on Monday night, said the move had become very necessary, following some issues rocking the party.
“After careful consultation and personal decision, I have decided to exit the PDP. It’s time to move on with our lives,” he said.
