A staunch member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and former Governor of Imo State, Hon Emeka Ihedioha has resigned his membership of the party.
Ihedioha, an erstwhile Chief Whip of the House of Representatives on the platform of the PDP, pointed out that in recent times, the party has taken on a path that is at variance with his personal beliefs.
According to him, despite attempt to offer counsel, the party is, sadly no longer able to carry out internal reforms, enforce its own rules or offer credible opposition to the ruling All Progressives Congress.
Ihedioha, in a letter personally signed by him and addressed to the Chairman PDP, Imo State, National Chairman, PDP and Chairman, PDP Board of Trustees, explained that since 1998, “ I have contributed my quota to the development and transformation of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) as one of the founding members”.
