A former Speaker of Kano State House of Assembly and Chairman, House Committee on Pension, Kabiru  Rurum, has dumped the ruling All Progessives Congress, APC.

In a telephone interview, Mr Rurum, a gubernatorial aspirant in APC, had informed journalists in Kano that he is not happy with the way politics is being played in the party in the state.

According to him, internal democracy had not prevailed in the party as some people are hellbent in choosing their candidates without following democratic processes to take place.

He said he had done all he could to ensure that free, fair playing ground are allowed in the course of party politicking but the powers that be prevented that.

Kabiru Alhassan Rirum said “it is unfair at this dispensation to deny Kano South the chance to produce the next Governor, hence they have not gotten that chance since 1992.”

He said he is considering joining forces with Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso’s New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP to ensure that Kano South Senstorial District are carried along in the politics of the state.
