Former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Chidi Nwogu, has hailed the success of Enugu Rangers at the just concluded Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) where the club emerged champion for this season and received the prize money of N150million.
In a statement made available to journalists in Abuja, Nwogu commended the serious improvement witnessed in turnout, interest and enthusiasm by stakeholders especially the president of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Gbenga Elegbeleye and the Hon Minister of Sports Hon. John Enoh, whose leadership has spurred up Nigerians both players and spectators.
“Also to be commended are sports loving Governors like Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mbah, Imo Hope Uzodinma; Zamfara Dauda Lawal and Edo Godwin Obaseki.
“Their investments in sports must be commended and most especially the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu who has been positive and supportive in changing the face of Nigerian sports through his Sports Minister Hon. Enoh,” the statement reads.
Nwogu also congratulated the Chief of Staff (CoS) to the President, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, on his birthday describing the former House of Representatives Speaker as an embodiment of humility and perseverance who has contributed to the growth of democracy in Nigeria.
“I want to wish the Chief of Staff to the President, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, a splendid birthday. I celebrate him today and always. He is an embodiment of humility and perseverance and he has contributed significantly to the growth of democracy in Nigeria.”
