Two lecturers that were involved in assisting students in examination malpractice at Jega School of Health Technology, in Kebbi state, have been expelled and transferred back to the state Ministry of Health.
Addressing newsmen in his office on Wednesday, after the committee’s investigation report, the newly appointed principal of the school, Aminu Mohammed Dakingari, said that the two lecturers were caught giving answers and writing for the students who were not able to attempt their questions in the exam hall.
‘’They were arrested this year by some of their colleagues, who saw them, and handed them over to the school authorities for further investigation’’ he said.
Dakingari further added that committee was set up to investigate the two lecturers and they were found guilty.
He also explained that 10 students, who were also involved in the examination malpractice, were also expelled from the school, in order to make the school effective, and to serve as deterrent to others in future.
‘’Students should know that this is a health school where, after their graduation they would go and handle human beings; so they need to read hard, know the practicals and be disciplined’’, he emphasized.
However, the principle also said that the state government has approved the construction of school clinic and 12 additional staff quarters, to enable them have conducive learning environment.
The principal said that more efforts are being made on security, in order to overcome the challenges.
