The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) yesterday advised intending travellers to visit the Aviation Passenger Service Portal before embarking on their trips.
This is contained in a statement signed by the General Manager Corporate Communications of FAAN, Mr Yakubu Dati, in Lagos on Wednesday.
He said that this was necessary as intending passengers would experience flight delays and cancellations, due to bad weather.
NAN reports that the Minister of Aviation, Mr Osita Chidoka, at the launching of the portal last month, said that the platform would empower travelers to get information at their finger-tips.
The minister had said that intending passengers and the general public could easily access information on flight availability, local airport information, weather forecasts and airline performance analyses.
He said the portal was where the flying public could access the real time information about airlines’ operations at any of the airports in Nigeria.
“The platform which can be accessed on www.aviationportal.com.ng is a reliable source for verified information purposely designed to empower passengers travellling by air.
“This is from within and outside Nigeria with accurate data with which they can make informed decisions and plan their journey,’’ he said. (NAN)
