An Estate Surveyor & ValuerDr. ESV Nanen Hembe has advised that Facility Management Teams should be headed by Estate Surveyors and Valuers for enhanced performance.
Dr . Hembe stated this yesterday in Abuja .
He explained that facility management as an area that integrates people, place and process to achieve functionality of the built environment.
According to him the training and expertise of Estate Surveyors and Valuers is pivotal to the success of any Facility Management Team.
He recommended that Estate Surveyors and Valuers should always head Facility Management Teams in both the public and private sectors.
He stated that Estate Surveyors and Valuers are trained to expertly oversee building maintenance and supervision, service charge appointment and administration, among others, that are actually more complex than they are perceived by property owners or investors.
The Estate Surveyor and Valuer emphasized that private and public players in the built environment must pay attention to these and adopt the right approaches .
He said approaches such as appointing the right professionals to oversee Facility Management as a long-term solution for longevity and security of their investments.
He concluded by reiterating that Estate Surveyors and Valuers should always head Facility Management Teams because they are knowledgeable at it, further stating that as experts at sinking fund structuring, they can greatly relieve real estate investors of maintenance challenges and prevent deterioration of aesthetics.
