Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Bisi Egbeyemi, has pledged his unalloyed loyalty to Governor Kayode Fayemi.
He also berated those accusing Fayemi of plotting to suspend the Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Political Matters, Babafemi Ojudu from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Egbeyemi raised an alarm that “fifth columnists and mischief-makers” were trying to cause disaffection between him and the governor.
A statement by his Special Assistant on Media, Odunayo Ogunmola, debunked claims that Fayemi threatened his deputy with impeachment.
Egbeyemi stated that Fayemi never told him to coerce the executives of the APC Ward 8 in Ado Ekiti to sign a resolution to suspend Ojudu.
It was alleged that the Ward Chairman, Clement Afolabi, was taken to the Deputy Governor’s residence to compel him to carry out Ojudu’s suspension.
Reacting, Egbeyemi insisted that he had no problem with his boss since the commencement of the administration in October 2018.
“Nobody can come between me and my Governor, nobody in the party mooted the idea to suspend anybody”, he said.
Egbeyemi added that speculations that Fayemi wants to remove him are false.
Noting that they both enjoy “the best of relationship”, he vowed “never to go against the governor.
