The Management of the Federal College of Education,Yola has urged the public to disregard and discountenence any information being issued through the Facebook account of its provost, Dr.Mohammed Usman Degereji.
Registrar of the College, Mallam Gidado Ahmed disclosed the development through a press release issued in Yola Thursday alerting members of the public that the Facebook account of the provost has been cloned by yet to be identify individuals.
According to the release, the Facebook account cloned which is displaying the official portrait of the provost has been noticed to be used in some unwarranted and fraudulent activities by those unscrupulous elements for their selfishness.
The College’s authority therefore advise members of the public to be wary of such activities and report same to security as efforts have been taken to track down those behind the criminal act.
“The attention of the Management of Federal College of Education,Yola has been drawn to the cloning of the Facebook account of it’s Provost, Dr. Mohammed Usman Degereji by some unscrupulous individuals or group.
“The cloned Facebook account,displaying the official portrait of the Provost,engages in all manner of untoward activities, ranging from soliciting of assistance to employment scam from gullible members of the Public as well as from friends and associates of the College Provost.”
