The ETSU (Chief) of Yaba in Abaji Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), His Royal Highness Alhaji Abdullahi Adamu, has celebrated 10 years anniversary of his leadership in grand style, calling on the residents to always live in peace.
In an interview with newsmen on Saturday in the community during the ten years anniversary, saying that today was one of my happiest days in the world. ETSU Yaba said: “When I was turbaned as the 10th ETSU of Yaba, I did not expect I would reach 10 days, but today I was celebrating the ten years of my throne. Glory be to God”.
He then called on both indigenes and settlers of Yaba community to continue to co-operate with him for the overall development of the area.
He also charged the people of Yaba to deem it necessary to pray for him, thanking them for their support.
Presenting his speech at the occasion, ETSU Yaba said: “Since I was crowned as ETSU of this chiefdom, we have achieved a lot and everyone who knows what Yaba used to be before for the past ten years bear me witness that we have a new Yaba now”.
While fielding questions from journalists, the monarch used the occasion to commend the Ona of Abaji, Alhaji Adamu Baba Yunusa for carrying the royal fathers along, as he described the Ona as a man of integrity.
His words: “Among the seventeen upgraded chiefs we have, if you have any problem whether good or bad, Ona will be the first person to be with you. When I lost my beloved father about eight years ago, Ona stayed with me for seven days. So, Ona of Abaji is a complete gentleman to the core”.
On the security challenges facing the country, the royal father appealed to the government of the day to allow everybody to carry the guns for self protection, noting that the government cannot do it alone.
