The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Football Association (FA) over the weekend inaugurated Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) football council board.

While inaugurating the six board members, FCT FA chairman Alhaji Musa Talle charged the board to work assiduously round the Municipal council in searching for prospect players for the territory.

He noted that AMAC has the largest population among the six area councils in the capital city, therefore has a big task to go to nook and canny of the council to select players for itself, FCT and Nigeria as well.

Talle urged the board members to organize grassroots football competitions where players can easily be discovered, added that the AMAC chairman would definitely support their football activities should it target of players discovery as well as glory to the council are achieved.

“We (FCT FA) know that AMAC can do it by going for talents hunt, organizing grassroots competitions like U-13, U-15 and U-17.

“We have this assurance because Gwagwalada and Kuje councils we inaugurated sometimes ago are doing tremendously well in their councils, we want AMAC to emulate them and even surpass them in grassroots football development, “he said.

Also speaking at the event, FCT Referees Association chairman, Ibraham Zakwoi implored the members to work together for the common interest of the council as well as preaching the rules of the games to its affiliates.

The six members include Godiya Tezhi-chairperson, Suleiman Adamu, Akahs Bitrus, Ndubusi Chigbu, Ibrahim Thanko and Dauda Pascal Dayo as secretary.
