The flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT, Hon. Abubakar Jibrin Giri, former lawmaker representing Abuja South at the National Assembly, Hon. Zakari Angulu Dobi, the Chairman of APC in the FCT, Alhaji Usman Abdulmalik, former Secretary of Gwagwalada Area Council, Alhaji Usman Yahaya and SA to the Minister of state for the FCT on the Area Councils and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Mohammed Saba, amongst others, attended APC stakeholders’ meeting in Gwagwalada on Wednesday.
In an interview at the meeting, the Gwagwalada APC candidate, Hon. Abubakar Jibrin Giri, said the first APC stakeholders’ meeting was held in order to ensure harmony for the victory of the party in 2022.
He added that the stakeholders meeting was aimed at bringing every member of the party together to work towards the success of the party in 2022, urging party supporters/members to always mobilize the people for the party in their various wards.
He pleaded with the aggrieved members of the party to remain in APC, as well as work for the progress of the party.
Giri said committee(s) would be set up in the ten political wards of the Area Council for the take-off of the campaign in November, 2021.
Also speaking, the former legislator representing Abuja South at National Assembly, Hon. Zakari Angulu Dobi, said the APC members/executives would continue to work together to ensure that the party Chairmanship candidate, as well as the Councillorship candidates win the 2022 election.
Dobi noted that the APC has faction in Gwagwalada, while charging the party’s stakeholders to remain committed to the victory of the party in 2022.
On his part, the APC Chairman in FCT, Alhaji Usman Abdulmalik, urged critical stakeholders to remain in APC, as well as work for all the candidates of the party in the 2022 election.
He also tasked the members/supporters of the party to be law-abiding citizens at all times.
Abdulmalik advised the aspirants who lost election to accept the defeat in good faith, saying that power comes from God.
Not left out, the former secretary of Gwagwalada Area Council, Alhaji Usman Yahaya, said the stakeholders’ meeting today targeted at unity/unity of purpose as well as the success of the party at the Gwagwalada Area Council level.
He said: “The APC in Gwagwalada is one big family that is willing to come together, join hands and ensure that the councillorship candidates/ chairmanship candidate wins the 2022 election”
He, therefore, called on the members of the party to continue to campaign for the party across the ten political wards, and urged them to maintain their stand.
