A Lebanese alongside the Vice-Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Lawrence Onuchukwu among other different tribes have bagged the traditional titles of Jiwa Chiefdom.
Performing the ceremony, the Emir of Jiwa in Abuja Municipal Area Council, Alhaji Idrisu Musa, who conferred the traditional titles on the personalities to mark his 17thanniversary enthronement of Jiwa Emirate Council.
He said the purpose of giving a Lebanese the title was that he employed about 500 people cut across different tribes at his factory in Idu community.
He also said the other personalities were given the titles based on their outstanding contributions towards Jiwa kingdom.
Continuing, he pointed out that the titles were conferred on the different tribes in order to unite them for the sake of peace and togetherness in Jiwa chiefdom.
The Emir, however, expressed appreciation for those who turned out during the 17th anniversary celebration.
Speaking to newsmen during the occasion, the District Head of Jiwa, Alhaji Abubakar Abdullahi, said the Jiwa kingdom deemed it necessary to honour the people with the chieftaincy titles, so as to bring rapid development to the area.
Abdullahi appealed to the residents of Jiwa to live in peace with one another irrespective of their political, religious and tribal inclinations.
However, both the Emir of Jiwa and District Head used the occasion to commend the chairman of AMAC, Hon. Abdullahi Adamu Candido for the projects already put in place in the area.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to Peoples Daily during the occasion thanked the Emir for the honour done to them.
