FCT: NBA celebrates 2020 law week in Gwagwalada

The Management of Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Gwagwalada Branch in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has ended the 7th Annual Law Week which began from 4th to 8th December, 2020 in a grand style in Gwagwalada.
The theme of the Law Week was “Rule of Law, National Security and the COVID-19 Pandemic”.
In his speech at the opening ceremony, the Chairman of NBA in Gwagwalada, Barrister Isah Abubakar Aliyu, thanked the organizing committee of the Law Week for coming together to organize a very rich Law Week in terms of content.
He said: “The Law Week is one of the most important events in the calendar of Nigerian Bar Association.”
According to Aliyu, the Branch Bar Centre and the bus are priority projects for the current administration. We shall be returning to the site soon to resume work on the Bar centre.
He, therefore, charged well wishers of the Bar as well as highly placed individuals to contribute meaningfully towards the Bar Centre/ bus projects.
The Gwagwalada NBA Chairman used the occasion to thank the Chief Judge of the FCT High Court, Hon. Justice I.U Bello for posting an additional judges to the Gwagwalada Judicial Division.
This, he added: “The Division now has four additional High Court Judges who will be resuming very soon.”
The 2020 Law Week featured Juma’at prayers as well as a novelty match between the Bar and the Bench. The Novelty match ended with 4 goals to 1 in favour of the Bar.
