The leadership of Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Wing has elected new executive members to pilot the affairs of the union for years.
The election of the FCT NUT Wing was conducted during the 16th Quadrennial conference delegates, held at the union heading office in Gwagwalada.
In his acceptance speech, the newly elected Chairman of the Union, Comrade Stephen A. Knabayi, said his leadership would remain committed to the welfare of the teachers in the territory.
He assured the teachers that he would work assiduously to move the union to a greater height, calling on the teachers to always support the new officials as well praying for them.
He charged the officials to work hand in hand with him in order to put smiles on the faces of the teachers in the territory.
He expressed with Joy that he would pilot the affairs of the union in accordance with the constitution of the union, and advised other officials to be devoted to their duties.
Knabayi thanked the National President of NUT, Dr. Muhammed Nasir Idris and other delegates who came from different parts of the country to grace the Quadrennial conference.
Meanwhile, the conference had its Theme “The Menace of Kidnapping and Terrorism on Educational Institutions in Nigeria: Issues, Consequences and Solutions.”
