The Minister of state for FCT, Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu has urged stakeholders involved in the management of the FCT COVID-19 palliative scheme to guard against its diversion, so as to achieve the aim of the initiative.
Aliyu particularly implored leadership of the six Area Councils to ensure that there is no distortion of the palliative disbursement to the poorest of the poor in their respective domains.
The Minister who gave the caution recently, while flagging of distribution of food items for one of the Area Councils, said the chairmen, councilors, traditional rulers, religious leaders and civil society should not fail the FCT Administration in this area.
She however disclosed that registers used in the distribution would be requested for after the exercise.
Also speaking, the Etsu of Kwali Shaban Nizazo, appreciated the efforts of government at ameliorating the lockdown effect on the people at grassroot level.
