FCTA orders Utako, Banex motor parks to move to Mabushi Terminal

In a move aimed at restructuring public transportation within the nation’s capital, The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Administration has approved the immediate relocation of several ad hoc motor parks currently operating around the Utako and Banex areas to newly constructed Mabushi Bus Terminal.
The FCTA at the weekend officially announced the commencement of operations at the new ultra-modern facility, which will will operate under the management of Planet Projects Limited.
According to an official announcement from the FCT Administration, formal quit notices have already been served to the operators of the affected illegal and ad hoc parks.
The government has established a strict deadline of Wednesday, June 24, 2026, for all affected transport operators to complete their relocation to the Mabushi facility.
The administration warned that failing to comply will result in direct enforcement action, stating: “After the deadline, the government will recover the affected parks and spaces for other overriding public purposes.”
This development is part of a broader urban renewal strategy by the FCT Administration to sanitize the city’s transport architecture, eliminate traffic congestion caused by unregulated motor parks, and enhance public safety.
Appealing to commercial drivers, transport unions, and commuters for their maximum cooperation during this transition period, the FCT Administration emphasized that the policy is designed to foster “a more organized urban transportation system and a better, livable city.”
