To enhance service delivery to residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Permanent Secretary, FCT Administration ,John Chukwu, , has called for continued synergy amongst all the directors of the administration.

According to Chukwu, services in the FCT Administration must be improved; as public service anywhere around the globe is the engine of implementing the policies and programmes of the government.

A statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the FCT minister, Muhammad Sule, said the permanent Secretary gave the charge during an emergency meeting with all the directors and deputy directors of the FCTA to generate necessary ideas that would strengthen service delivery.

He called for a change of attitude; the departments should always collaborate in sharing ideas and information in all areas as it affects city management, he added.

“Henceforth, any director who sees anything that concerns another department must immediately alert the schedule director for immediate action; because whatever affects a particular department or agency in the FCTA, affects all.

“The FCT Administration’s Public Service must be conscious and remained focussed to serve its statutory role of being the engine of positive change by embracing new innovations to improve quality service delivery.”

The statement added that Chukwu urged the departments in the Social Development Secretariat as well as the Abuja Environmental Protection Board (AEPB) to find ways of tackling the menace of street hawking, begging and commercial sex workers.
