The FCT Administration has assured individuals and organisations, who have shown that they want to be part of the development of FCT, that it wll sustain such partnership.
Making this assurance yesterday, FCT Minister, Barr. Nyesom Wike, noted that It is the responsibility of good citizens to respond to government or call the attention of government, as the government, you may not be aware of the situation of things in every areas.
Wike, who spoke while commissioning newly constructed
roads (Esther Bali Street) and (Kez Udezue Street) in Mabushi District, Abuja, added that every responsible government will be happy with such a citizen as a shareholder in the development of the society.
According to him: “That is what we require, this is what we want, and the government will immediately respond to such attention.
“No government, even if you stay 20 years in government office, you cannot finish every project.
“All the residents here and businesses here will thrive, and that is the essence of governance, by making things easy for the citizens”
The minister continued: “Let me thank the contractor, for making us happy. This contract was awarded six months ago. In fact, before the paper for award was given, they’ve gone far. Again, that is the confidence the company has for administration. I want to commend you and assure you that we’ll continue to partner with you.
“And all those who have shown that they want to be part of the development of FCT, be assured that we’ll continue to partner with you.”
Earlier, in her remarks, FCT Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, expressed gratitude to Mr. President for his steady leadership and enduring belief that the prosperity of Nigeria begins with the strength and functionality of its capital city.
Mahmoud equally acknowledged the FCT Minister, Barrister Nyesom Wike as the driver of the Renewed Hope Agenda whose purposeful leadership, passion for infrastructure renewal, and bold drive for results has ignited a new era of development within the FCT.
She tasked residents of the FCT to maintain the infrastructure, saying, “These roads belong to you; may they serve your daily lives with ease and safety.”
