The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) through its Transportation Secretariat, has announced the withdrawal of the three Provisional Operator’s Licenses granted to SECDA Nigeria Limited to operate commercial transport services in the Territory.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Assistant Director, Information at the Transportation Secretariat, Ifeanyi Ughamadu, yesterday.
The statement said the mandate Secretary of the Transportation Secretariat, Comrade kayode Opeifa, explained that the withdrawal of the licenses follows the company’s failure to obey the FCTA’s directives on the closure of all unauthorised terminals and motor parks along Abuja – keffi road.
“In view of the continued violation of terms of their engagement and threat to peace and security at the parks, SECDA Nig Limited is hereby directed to immediately stop operating all forms of commercial transportation in the Federal Capital Territory until further notice,” the statement affirmed.
Our correspondent reports that SECDA is an umbrella of Self employed drivers in Abuja, registered as one of the companies granted license to offer public transport services in the nation’s capital.
