Federal Varsity Dutse spends N197m on academic staff training -VC

The Federal University Dutse has concluded all arrangement for the 4th convocation on Saturday, with about fourteen students graduating with first-class honours.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Fatima Batul Muktar dropped the hint yesterday at a pre-convocation briefing held at senate building in the university premises.
Professor Batoul added that, over N197,440,000.00 million naira has been spent in training its academic staff ranging from Masters to PhD at home and abroad to promote academic excellence in the institution.
The VC also explained that TETFund had further sponsored 28 academic staff plus 89 non academic staff all with the view to improving the standard the institution has curved for itself.
“558 students will be graduated in different disciplines, 14 made first division, 444 obtained second class upper and second class lower while 70 got third class,” she said.
Fatima said for the first time, and first among its contemporaries, the university is graduating 281 post graduate students, describing the development as a thing of pride among others.
The Vice Chancellor stated further that since the establishment of the university eight years ago a lot of remarkable academic and physical development were put in place. “From 3 faculties to 6 and now 32 departments while students population increased from 202 in 2012 to 8,602 as at 2019”.
The fourth convocation of Federal University Dutse will be held on Saturday June 22, 2019 with pre-convocation lectures on Friday 21 June to be delivered by the JAMB Registrar, Professor Ishaq Olarewaju Oloyode titled “Strategic Repositioning of the Management and Conduct of Regional and Sub-Regional Examinations and National Development”.
