Female residents appeal for release of abducted Chibok schoolgirls

Date:

The Mothers’ Union/Women’s Guild of the Cathedral Church of Advent, Life Camp, Abuja, has joined millions of persons around the world to appeal for the release of the abducted Chibok schoolgirls.

The Vice President of the union, Mrs. Josephine Adekola, made the appeal on Saturday while fielding questions from newsmen at the 2014 Archdeaconry Women’s Conference.

She said that though efforts by security agencies to rescue the girls should be supported by citizens, Nigerians must not forget to pray for the speedy resolution of the insurgency.

“I know that a lot is being done to tackle this issue of Boko Haram and other criminal activities going on in parts of the country but we must not relent in our prayers.

“Even as we join other people around the world to beg for the release of the schoolgirls, we must continue to pray at all times because only prayers can truly end the problems confronting us’’, she said.

Adekola urged parents, especially mothers, to devote more time to the development of their children so as to reduce the probability of their involvement in unusual activities. (NAN)
