The Federal Government yesterday approved a draft national policy on labour migration aimed at effectively managing the movement of labour across national and international borders.

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) chaired by President Goodluck Jonathan also approved the procurement of sports equipment for 981 primary schools across the country.

Outgoing Labour and Productivity Minister, Chief EmekaWogu, who briefed State House correspondents alongside his Information counterpart, LabaranMaku, explained that the proposed labour migration policy would help in the protection of the dignity of migrant Nigerian labourers working in different parts of the world.

Wogu said that the policy would also stem the incidence of illegal migration, which he said, had been the bane of most developing countries.
