FG flags off N3.7bn water project in Jigawa

The federal government has flagged off the N3.7 billion water project in Kazaure local government area of Jigawa state.
Speaking at the flagging off ceremony, the Minister of Water Resources, Engineer Sulaiman Husaini Adamu said the project was approved by the Federal Executive Council during its meeting since January.
He explained that, this was part of the present administration’s effort led by President Muhammad Buhari to provide portable and hygienic water to masses across the country.
According to him, the project will be completed within next 24 months.
The Minister maintained that, the project is in two component, first component in which the federal government is financing include the source of water plant, transmission line to Kazaure and water reservoir that will contain over 2,000 litres of water per day.
Speaking, the Jigawa state governor who was represented by his deputy, Barrister Ibrahim Hassan Haxeja said the state government is ever ready to take over from where federal government stopped.
He said, the state government will do all its best and ensure the distribution of water across the benefiting areas in the emirate.
