The Federal Government of Nigeria has pledged to collaborate with state government to improve service delivery in all Federal Medical Centres in Nigeria.
This pledge was made when the National Coordinator and Chief Executive Officer SERVICOM, Mrs Nnenna Akajemeli gave her goodwill message at the Opening Ceremony for 2020 First Ministerial SERVICOM Committee/ Nodal and Desk Officers Networking Retreat in Keffi, Nasarawa State, today 13th February, 2020.
This was contained in a statement by Henrietta Okokon (Mrs)
Public Awareness Manager (SERVICOM) made available to the Peoples Daily yesterday in Abuja.
Mrs Akajemeli in her goodwill message stated that the Federal government of Nigeria is poised to deliver citizens-centred services at every stage of service delivery in all our Federal Medical Centres, where citizen’s become the organizing principle and public interest is determined where service delivery is planned.
According to her, the best practice to ensure citizen-centred service begins with understanding citizens’ needs and priorities, as well as identifying which services citizens find most problematic by measuring the extent of dissatisfaction.
One of the ways government can prioritize areas for improvement, she said, is getting feedbacks from citizens by letting them tell you what matters most to them and combine public feedback mechanism with internal data to uncover hidden pain points.
She appealed to Federal Medical Centres’ Management to take responsibility by pointing out the way and creating the right environment for quality service improvement, which will set the pace and demonstrate initiatives required.
To achieve this initiatives she said, requires ‘’ Service Audit and Evaluation of Organization and also draw out and implement a service improvement plan for the Organization’’.
Akajemeli, advised management of Federal Ministry of Health and Medical Directors of health institutions to render citizen- centred service by owning the process and be at the fore front of driving service delivery initiative for all Nigerians.
She pledged SERVICOM’s readiness to partner and support the Ministry and Hospitals with needed technical assistance for service delivery initiative to succeed.
In his Opening remarks, the Governor of Nasarawa State Engineer Abdullahi A. Sule, represented by the Deputy Governor of the state, Dr Emmanuel Agbadu Akabe, promised indigenes of the State of governments’ commitment in ensuring that, all Medical Centres are digitally compliant, by engaging the initiatives of the private/public sector to achieve a citizen -centred service delivery in the state.
He appealed to the Coordinator of SERVICOM to partner with the state government in delivering the much needed technical assistance Nasarawa State requires.
He assured the citizens of Nasarawa State that his administration would abide by the principles of accountability, transparency, rule of law and above all the fear of God.
