The Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment said it has commenced training of 200 women in Ningi Local Government Area of Bauchi State on various skill acquisition rogrammes.
The Minister of State in the Ministry, Ambassador Maryam Yalwaji Katagum announced this yesterday when she paid a courtesy visit to Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed at the Council Chamber, Government House Bauchi.
Ambassador Maryam said this was part of the determination of the ministry to provide technical support to local small and medium enterprises for the growth of the economy.
She said currently the federal government is working in close collaboration with financial institutions in order to support local enterprises with loans and credit.
The Minister who reaffirmed government’s determination to boost trade and investment sector in the country, appealed to the state government to work with the ministry to improve value chain and develop the products produced by local traders.
Governor Bala Mohammed said the involvement of the state government in the ongoing 1st National Trade Fair is to ensure the success of the event.
The Governor who spoke through his Deputy, Senator Baba Tela applauded the Ministry for the commencement of the training of 200 women in Ningi Local Government Area of the state.
