FG warns NSIP independent monitors to be patriotic

Federal government has warned the engaged Independent Monitors (IM) of National Social Investment Programme (NSIP) to ensure sense of patriotism, diligence and sincerity in their assignment.
The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajiya Sadiya Umar Faruk gave the warning in Minna during the official distribution of engagement letters and tablets to trained independent monitors.
She explained that their service was for a duration of one year contract from June 2021 to May 2022 with a payment of N30,000 monthly stipend after meeting up to eighty percent monthly deliverables.
Hajiya Faruk noted that the devices were locally made and equipped with application for use to report and monitor activities in their respective designated areas.
Represented by the ministry’s deputy director, planning research and statistics, Safiya Sani said President Muhammadu Buhari created the programme from 2016 to lift one hundred Nigerians out of poverty through numbers of social interventions.
Niger Focal Person and Governor’s SIP, Special Adviser, Barrister Amina Gu’ar advised beneficiaries to be hardworking, sincere, fair and focused in carrying out their required mandate, assuring of her maximum support for the programme’s success.
