The Chief Judge of the Federal High Court of Nigeria, Justice John Terhemba Tsoho, has announced that the court will on April 16, embark on 2025, Easter vacation.
A statement signed by the signed Director Information, Catherine Oby Christopher, PhD. said that the court shall proceed on its Easter Vacation from Wednesday the 16th day of April, 2025 to Monday the 28th day of April, 2025.
This is Pursuant to the provisions of Order 46, Rule 4 (C) of the Federal High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules, 2019 (as amended).
The Court resumes sitting on Tuesday, 29th April, 2025 in all Judicial Divisions. According the statement, during the vacation period, the Abuja, Lagos and Port-Harcourt core Judicial Divisions shall remain open to the public only for cases of extreme urgency.
It stated that during the vacation, only matters relating to enforcement of Fundamental Rights; Arrest or Release of Vessels and matters that concerns dire National Interest are to be entertained by Vacation Judges.
The following Hon. Judges will serve as Vacation Judges:
Abuja judicial division will have Justice Emeka Nwite and Justice Musa S. Liman as its vacation judges.
Lagos judicial division will have Justice Akintayo Aluko and Justice Isaac I. Dipeolu. While Port-Harcourt judicial division will have Justice Phoebe M. Ayua and Justice Adamu T. Mohammed.
The Vacation Judges and Heads of Divisions are as usual advised to promptly refer to the Hon. Chief Judge all matters which they believe may require His Lordship’s urgent attention and directives.
