Yahaya Bello, the former governor of Kogi State, has finally honored the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s (EFCC) invitation today, September 18, 2024. This development comes after months of controversy surrounding his alleged involvement in money laundering to the tune of N80,246,470,089.88
Bello had previously declined the EFCC’s invitation, citing concerns about being embarrassed or intimidated . However, it appears that he has now decided to cooperate with the commission.
The EFCC has been investigating Bello for his alleged role in money laundering and misappropriation of funds during his tenure as governor . His nephew, Ali Bello, has already been arraigned and remanded in prison for his involvement in a N3 billion fraud case
