First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has commissioned a series of landmark projects in Hadejia, in Jigawa State.
The projects included a modern clinic, an advanced innovation academy, the newly constructed Hadejia Emirate Palace, and several township roads.
The two flagship projects—the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Future Academy and the Senator Oluremi Tinubu Clinic—were built and equipped by the Futuremap Foundation.
The projects were facilitated by the Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Malam Kashifu Inuwa, with the goal of bridging the gap between digital innovation and community healthcare.
Senator Tinubu, who was accompanied by the Northwest governors and their wives, commended the Jigawa State government and the FutureMap Foundation for prioritizing basic human needs.
She expressed gratitude for the honor of having the facilities named after herself and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
During the visit, the First Lady also launched the National Community Food Bank Programme in the state, reaffirming the Federal Government’s commitment to tackling hunger, malnutrition, and improving the livelihoods of citizens.
Speaking at the event, NITDA Director General Kashifu Inuwa described the facilities as an integrated ecosystem designed to translate technical knowledge into economic value.
According to Inuwa, the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Future Academy features –
a Fabrication Laboratory (FabLab) and maker space, an advanced prosthetics department an innovation lab and coworking space, a pitch space, training classes, and a computer-based test (CBT) centre, and a modern theatre/auditorium.
Conversely, the Senator Oluremi Tinubu Clinic will serve as both a primary healthcare provider and a real-world testing ground for health-tech solutions developed at the academy.
To ensure critical, life-saving services are brought closer to the community, the clinic has been equipped with a dedicated dialysis centre, a standard operating theatre, labour and maternity room, an integrated oxygen supply system, and sustainable power infrastructure.
The delegation also celebrated the official opening of the grand Hadejia Emirate Palace, which was constructed by the current administration of Governor Umar Namadi to preserve the state’s cultural heritage.
