Flooding: Residents warned against blocking drainages

Coordinator, Satellite Towns Development Development (STDD), Ishaku Tanko Yamawo has warned residents of satellite towns to desist from indiscriminate dumping of refuse, especially inside drainage systems.
Yamawo decried that most of drainages within communities across FCT Area Councils are being blocked by waste, thereby hindering free flow of water.
The STDD Coordinator spoke during an inspection tour of the ongoing road construction in Karu Site Development Area, recently.
According to him, residents must refrain from such behaviour, stressing that a clean environment can prevent not only outbreak of serious sundry diseases, bit also flooding in the Territory.
He equally advised members of the public to heed to the warning by experts about increased flooding in various parts of the country, including the FCT.
