Former Bauchi, Osun states administrator quits politics

The former Military Administrator of Bauchi and Osun states, Col Theophilus Bamigboye has declared that he has quit politics and will be spending his remaining life on service to humanity.

  Bamigboye who stated this in Ilorin on Tuesday while speaking with Journalists during the Rotary Club courtesy visit to Correspondent Chapel, said he would not be aspiring for any political position again.

  “I want to use all my remaining life in service to humanity. I am very concerned with humanity now.”

The former Accord and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate and aspirant noted that without being in politics, he could touch many lives and safe people in many areas.

  He said that despite pressure on him to come out to contest by a group, he had told them that he would be thinking about it stressing that, if anybody sees his posters in the public, it was not from him.

The former Military Administrator said if he was given Ministerial slots or ambassadorial post, he would accept it but would not be involved in active politics as he did in 2007 and 2011 general elections.

Bamigboye who is the President of Rotary Club, GRA area, Ilorin, disclosed that three Indians, one Egyptian, one Jamaica and one Lebanese have joined the GRA club among 37 members stressing that the club has commenced fund raising for some of it targeted projects.

  He disclosed that a primary school in Isolukun, a village in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State has been discovered for lacking classrooms, toilets, water and qualified teachers.

  Bamigboye added that the GRA Rotary Club would raise funds for the school and rescue it to protect the future of children and the unborn generation.
