The immediate past Speaker of the Zamfara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Sanusi Garba Rikiji has declared his intention to vye for the seat of Zamfara Central Senatorial District ahead of the upcoming bye election in the state.

The seat of the senate representing Zamfara central senatorial district has become vacant following recent appointment of the former Senator Hassan Mohammed Nasiha as deputy Governor of Zamfara State after barrister Mahdi Aliyu Gusau was impeached by the State House of Assembly.

Until his declaration, Garba Rikiji was a Chief of Staff to the Speaker House of Representatives, rt. hon. Femi Gbajabiamila after he served as Zamfara State Speaker House of Assembly for two terms.

Rikiji, who formally made the declaration at the state APC headquarters Gusau on Wednesday, said he is aspiring for the seat to further contribute his quota to the political and socio-economic growth of the state.
