Foundation lambasts Atiku over alleged failed promises

A Charity Foundation, M. Gwanja Foundation (MGF) has disowned former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar for failing to fund the Non-Governmental Organization (NGO).
National President of the MGF, Musa Isah Gwanja, revealed that, Abubakar, who is presidential candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) promised to support the Foundation in order to expand its activities beyond Kano.
Gwanja, made the revelation during distribution of food items and instructional materials to residents and pupils of Gama area of Nassarawa Local Government area of the state, held at Kaura Goje Primary School yesterday.
According to him, the acronym of the foundation contained the initial of Atiku’s name, adding that they had no option than to remove it because he failed to fulfil his promise.
“Our name was initially M. A. Gwanja foundation because Atiku Abubakar made a promise to support this foundation. But in the long run Zee realised that he is not willing to fulfill the promise, that is why we decided to remove his name.
“We run this foundation in order to support the less privileged,
orphans and downtrodden. This is my hobby and passion. To assist the needy is my passion. Whenever I realise that I have about N500, 000 in my account, I will not rest on my ores until I spend it all in helping the needy.
“We use this foundation to foster unity and harmony among the populace, to help government in education development and by extension, the society as a whole,” Gwanja said.
Gwanja, who is a Kannywood musician, however stated that he runs the charity foundation not for political gain, stressing that the organization was just founded for service to humanity.
Our correspondent reports that the foundation had distributed exercise books to 100 pupils of the primary school and 20 cartons of spaghetti to some members of the community.
He also revealed that the foundation had so far provided boreholes to some communities, and donated 26,000 books to some schools, and wed two women last year.
He added that MGF also sponsored the education of 134 orphans, adding that his activities has Dianne’s to neighboring states.
He also called on wealthy people to support the foundation or emulate him in order to ease the economic plight among the masses.
