The Caleb Danladi Foundation is preparing to train approximately 250 girls in the Ketti Community in basic digital skills. This initiative aims to promote digital inclusion and empower young girls for future educational and economic opportunities.
Ahead of the program, the Foundation conducted a stakeholder engagement visit to Ketti Community to ensure smooth implementation of the training and to gain community support for the initiative.
The engagement was led by Dr. Caleb Danladi, the Founder of the Foundation, and included key stakeholders such as the Village Head of Ketti Community, Mr. Alex Akata; the Youth Leader, Mr. Paul M. Musa; teachers; women representatives; and other community leaders.
During the discussions, Dr. Danladi explained that the digital literacy program would equip girls with essential computer skills, guidance on responsible internet use, online safety awareness, digital communication tools, and foundational skills pertinent to learning and entrepreneurship.
He emphasized that this training is a strategic investment aimed at narrowing the gender digital gap, preparing girls to thrive in an increasingly digital world.
Captain Bako noted that empowering girls with digital skills would enhance their academic performance and create pathways to innovation, self-reliance, and long-term socioeconomic development.
The Village Head, Mr. Alex Akata, welcomed the initiative and praised the Foundation for prioritizing girls’ education, describing the training as timely and aligned with the community’s developmental needs.
Likewise, Youth Leader Mr. Paul M. Musa and the attending teachers expressed strong support for the initiative, highlighting its positive impact on learning outcomes, creativity, and youth engagement.
They committed to supporting community sensitization, participant selection, and mentorship to ensure the program’s success and sustainability.
Discussions during the engagement also focused on implementation strategies for the training, including measures to safeguard participants and create a supportive learning environment.
Stakeholders agreed that strong collaboration would be essential for delivering measurable and lasting impact.
