Governor of Kaduna state, Dr. Mukhtar Ramalan Yero has disowned fraudulent text messages being circulated by some unscrupulous elements soliciting for funds on his behalf.
A statement signed by Ahmed Maiyaki, Spokesperson to the Governor, call on the general public to disregard any such text messages as they are mere attempts at defrauding them of their hard earned money.
“For the avoidance of doubt, Governor Yero has not directly or through any third party asked people to make deposit into certain bank account.
“Suspected fraudsters have obviously hacked the Governor’s phone number and are using it to defraud unsuspecting people,” he said.
Our reporter gathered that a text message was circulating, soliciting funds on behalf of the state governor.
