FRSC extends ember month awareness campaign

The massive awareness campaign currently put in place by Federal Roads Safety Commission (FRSC), is to continue beyond the ember months which are notorious for accidents and loss of lives.

The Corp Marshall and the Chief Executive of the Commission, Mr. Boboye Oyeyemi disclosed this when he visited the Commandant of the Nigeria Army School of Infantry, Jaji, Kaduna state

Mr. Oyeyemi said the military and the Corps have a good and cordial relationship with the Infantry Centre and that is why he was in the center to seek for collaborations.

In his response, the Commandant of the Infantry School, Major General Mohammed D Abubakar said the capacity building relationship between the centre and the school would be strengthen with the courtesy visit of the Corps Marshall. He however enjoins Military Personnel to always avoid jumping check points, traffic wardens, traffic lights amongst others by obeying simple traffic rules and regulations for their safety.

At the Nigerian Defense Academy, (NDA), Mr. Boboye Oyeyemi said the Corps will always liaise with other relevant stakeholders on the need to improve capacity training of its personnel to serve the nation better.

In his response, the Commandant of the Nigerian Defense Academy (NDA), Major General Mohammed I. Idris said the training and re-training of Cadets and NDA staff on road safety would be encouraged and that the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) would be reviewed bi-annually for the Military to be good drivers who respect and abide by traffic rules to lives.
