The Secretary of Nigerian fruits Sellers Association, Zuba branch, in Gwagwalada area council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Malam Ibrahim Yusuf, has called on council’s chairman, Hon. Abubakar Jibrin Giri, to rehabilitate the dilapidated roads in Zuba, especially the road leading to the fruits market.
He also urged the chairman to construct drainage in the fruits market, so as to prevent the recurring gully erosion at the market place.
Yusuf, who made the call in an interview with the Peoples Daily, in Zuba, decried that despite the revenue being generated from the market for the administration of the council, nothing had been done to arrest some pressing issues affecting the market.
He therefore called on the leadership of the council to expedite action towards the provision of social amenities in the market, for the interest of the customers and traders in the market.
He however assured that the leadership of the market would continue to co-operate with the government for the sustainable development of the market.
The secretary therefore, advised the sellers as well as buyers to desist from any act capable of generating crisis in the market, pleading with the members to join hands with the officials of the association to move the market to the next level.
