FUDMA expels 1 student, rusticates 51 over alleged examination malpractice
The Federal University Dutsin-Ma in Katsina State has approved the expulsion of one student and rustication of 51 others for examination malpractice.
A statement issued on Tuesday by the university’s Director of Information and Protocol, Nasir M Abdul, said the affected students were found culpable in examination misconducts during the 2025/2026 First Semester.
“This brings to 72, the number of students so far disciplined by the University for examination misconducts.
“The rustication, which is for two semesters, takes effect from the Second Semester of the 2025/2026 session.
“The decision was taken at the 139th Regular Meeting of the Senate held on Tuesday, 5th May, 2026,, presided over by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mohammed Khalid Othman.”
According to the statement, the decision is line with Section 13.3, Sub-section 13.3c of the University’s Academic Policy on Examination Irregularity and Academic Misconducts.
The university had initially rusticated 20 students for two semesters as approved by the Senate on 11th March, 2026.
“All the students were invited for interaction with FUDMA’s Committee on Examination Misconduct which recommended the disciplinary measures for Senate’s subsequent approval.”
