FUDMA’s Entrepreneurship Development Centre Sets Up Bakery
The Entrepreneurship Development Centre of the Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA) has set up a bakery to provide practical training to students and generate revenue for the university.
The centre, which is already producing yoghurt, bottled and sachet water, said ‘FUDMAbread’ is another milestone in the efforts to promote practical entrepreneurship for students, create sustainable ventures and transform available resources into productive enterprises.
A test-run has been already been carried out and waiting commencement of full production after the formal opening of the bakery by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. M.K. Othman very soon.
“Undoubtedly, this is a significant milestone in the University’s drive towards entrepreneurship, innovation, self-reliance and the quest for increased internally generated revenue (IGR),” the Centre said.
“This initiative is designed to serve multiple purposes. Apart from contributing to the University’s internally generated revenue, it will also provide staff, students and members of the surrounding community with easy access to affordable and quality bread.
“The development further demonstrates the commitment of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. M.K. Othman, to reposition the University, with the Entrepreneurship Development Centre serving as a hub for innovation, skills development, productivity and economic empowerment.”
