Fuel station manager killed by armed robbers in Kaduna

There was confusion on at Tudun Wada, a suburb of Kaduna metropolis, at the weekend, when suspected armed robbers invaded Ruma fuel station, along Nnamdi Azikiwe expressway and killed the manager of the station.

Report from the area said the robbers carted away unspecified amount of money before they fled the area.

It was gathered from eyewitnesses that the incident which occurred around 6:45pm threw the whole area into confusion as people nearby ran for safety.

It was further gathered that the suspects were three men and they went into the station in an ash coloured Golf car and filled their tank before commencing operation.

“Three of them came into the fuel station in an ash coloured Golf car and ordered the attendant to hand over her sales after she had filled their tank. She didn’t argue with them, she complied. In fact, they looked like the same gang who attacked a lecturer in Kinkinau GRA.

“They now moved to where the manager in his office and demanded him to surrender the station’s money to them. They shot him point blank in the head when he told them he does not have any money with him,” according to an eyewitness, who does not want his name mentioned.

Peoples Daily also gathered that the robbers, before they fled the area, shot sporadically at other people around.

Reports said people pelted stones at them as they raced out of the station and headed towards Abuja junction.

Sympathizers took the shot station manager to 44 Military Hospital, where he later died around 10pm.

Police spokesperson, SP Aminu Lawal, while confirming the incident said report a from the Tudun Wada Police Division indicated that no money was taken from the fuel station, saying Investigation is however on-going.
