FUGA Opens Bids for 2025 TETFund Projects, Pledges Transparency

The Federal University Gashua (FUGA), Yobe State, has conducted a financial bid opening for various projects under the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) 2025 intervention in with the provisions of the Public Procurement Act 2007.

Organized by the university’s Procurement Unit, the exercise took place on Wednesday, at the 284-capacity Lecture Theatre on the university campus.

Speaking at the event, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Yaqub Ahmed Geidam, reaffirmed the management’s commitment to providing adequate infrastructure to enhance a conducive environment for teaching and learning.

He assured all participating companies of a fair, open, and transparent procurement process in the execution of all contracts.

Represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Professor Yakubu Muhammad Attai, he also expressed appreciation to representatives of the various companies for their continued interest and support toward the development of the university.

The bid opening covered key projects under the TETFund 2025 intervention, including renovation of staff quarters and classrooms, rehabilitation of student hostels.

Others are procurement and installation of office and laboratory equipment, and provision of library materials and ICT infrastructure.

The event was well attended by representatives of participating companies, officials of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), members of the media, and other critical stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability throughout the process.
