As cow rustlers continue to terrorize villagers in northern Nigeria, a Fulani man lost about 200 cows to cow rustlers in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna state.
Sources from the area said the incident occurred around 5 p.m. on Thursday, about 3 kilometres away from a village called Gwaska in the area.
It was gathered that the Fulani man was rearing his cows alongside his son when they were attacked by the gunmen in the bush.
Peoples Daily spoke with a resident of the area on phone, who does not want his name mentioned. “They were rearing their cows in the bush three kilometres away from Gwaska town when they were attacked by the rustlers. He escaped by the whiskers with his son, leaving his 200 cows behind and they took away the cows,” he said.
He explained that they have reported the incident to their village head who promised to inform the police about it.
The resident further appealed to the authorities concerned to come to their aid so as to protect them from the rustlers who are terrorising them.
When contacted, the state Command Public Relations Officer, SP Aminu Lawan could not be reached as he didn’t pick call put through to his phone.
