Federal University of Technology FUT, Minna has handed over 2.534 hectares of land to Shelter Suites and Hotels Limited to begin the construction of N1.2 billion naira Hotel and Suites at the Main Campus of Gidan Kwanu.
The Vice Chancellor, Processor Abdullahi Bala made the disclosure at the official handing over of the site to the Company Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO), Malam Faruk Aliyu yesterday in Minna.
He stated that the multi billion naira hotel project would start with 40 rooms that is a continuous process to be of international standard in a desire to provide the required infrastructure despite paucity of funds by the institution hence the need for private partnership.
The Vice Chancellor explained that his vision of providing good infrastructure for conducive environment for guests and visitors has started yielding result assured of better service delivery as desired services in the campus when completed.
Professor Bala however commended the company for the joint venture he said will surely go along way in providing services within and outside the campus, noted that other benefits will soon followed by providing restaurants within the institution.
